Corporate Attorney Jay Coogan Joins Duane Morris' Philadelphia Office
PHILADELPHIA, March 13 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to welcome John Coogan, Jr. as a partner in its Philadelphia office. Jay, former vice chair of the Corporate/Securities Practice Group and head of the Emerging Businesses Group of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen LLP, joins Duane Morris' Corporate Practice Group.
Jay has extensive experience in a wide range of corporate and securities law. He represents both publicly traded and privately held companies and investment funds in matters including mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, emerging companies and venture capital financings. Prior to joining Wolf Block in 1996, Jay served as Assistant General Counsel to a Pennsylvania healthcare services company. Prior to that, he was a clerk for Justice Andrew G.T. Moore II of the Delaware Supreme Court. Jay is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association, and sits on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Art Alliance and the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.
Before earning his J.D., magna cum laude, in 1985 from Tulane University School of Law, where he received the Dean's Medal and was a member of the Order of the Coif, Jay graduated with a B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1980. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York.
