Duane Morris Welcomes Partner James McTarnaghan to San Francisco Office

SAN FRANCISCO, March 13, 2006 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to welcome Jim McTarnaghan, formerly of Steefel, Levitt & Weiss P.C., as a partner in its Energy and Resources Practice Group and Information Technologies and Telecom Group. Jim joins the firm's San Francisco office where he will focus his practice on energy, telecommunications, and regulatory matters.
Jim has extensive experience in telecommunications and energy regulatory law, representing telecommunications and energy clients in federal and state regulatory proceedings and related litigation. In addition to his regulatory practice, he counsels clients on strategies related to supply and procurement of energy and telecommunications services and conservation and in negotiations with energy and telecommunications providers. He has practiced before the California Public Utilities Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and various other state utility commissions. Jim is the current President of the California Conference of Public Utility Counsel, and also co-chairs the Northern California Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Association. He speaks frequently on regulatory issues.
Jim received a J.D. with honors from the National Law Center at The George Washington University in 1983 after graduating with a B.A., magna cum laude, in Public Affairs from the State University of New York at Albany in 1980. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and California.
