Immigration Attorney Tina Sharma Joins Duane Morris in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 13, 2006 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to welcome Tina Sharma, formerly of Jenkens & Gilchrist, as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office. Tina joins the firm as a partner in the Employment & Immigration Practice Group, where she will represent clients on immigration and related matters.
Tina focuses her practice on advising and representing clients in the technology industry with business immigration issues, and has represented a broad range of clients from individuals, such as entertainers and athletes, to technology firms. She counsels clients on immigration issues relating to corporate reorganizations, mergers, layoffs, name changes, and public access and I-9 program improvement. In addition, she has extensive experience in matters of consular processing, political asylum, international adoptions and family-based immigration cases, among others. Previously, she served as lead in-house immigration counsel to a major technology company with more than 9,000 employees. Active in the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Network of Indian Professionals and the Association of American Lawyers from the Indian Subcontinent, Tina is also a member of the New York and Maryland state bar associations. Tina has written articles for the IndUS Business Journal, a publication focusing on the South Asian business market.
Tina earned her J.D. from Fordham University Law School in 1993 after graduating with a B.S. from Georgetown University in 1990. She is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
