Real Estate Attorneys Brian Belt and Susan Pontigas Join Duane Morris in Miami
MIAMI, April 2, 2007 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to welcome Brian Belt and Susan Pontigas, formerly of Shutts & Bowen LLP, as partners in its Miami office. Brian and Susan join the firm's Real Estate Practice Group.
Brian has represented many of Florida's prominent real estate developers in such matters as acquisition and sales, land use, leasing, construction and financing. He also handles mixed use planning, land and infrastructure development, construction contracts, financing, negotiations with government, hospitality matters, large mixed use hotel projects and numerous luxury communities. Some of Brian's notable projects include a 200-acre office and industrial park, a 200-acre luxury golf, country club and marina community in Miami-Dade County, disposition of an office building portfolio throughout Florida valued at $130 million, and work on a $300-million condominium project in Northern Miami-Dade County. Brian earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1981. He graduated from Kalamazoo College with a B.A. in 1978.
Susan has worked on complex commercial real estate transactions on behalf of local and national real estate developers and lenders. Her experience includes the acquisition and disposition of vacant and improved properties, the structuring, development, construction and management of commercial, residential and mixed use projects and condominiums, the negotiation and settlement of office, retail and industrial leases and the representation of both lenders and borrowers in commercial loan transactions. Susan earned her J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law, with honors, in 1988. She was an editor of the University of Florida Law Review. She earned her Business Administration and Finance Degree from the University of Florida, with high honors.
