Duane Morris' Atlanta Office Adds Two Corporate Partners
September 29, 2008
ATLANTA, September 29, 2008 - Duane Morris LLP is adding two partners to its Atlanta office. Preston Delashmit and Robert Lesser, who are joining the firm's Corporate Practice Group, were formerly partners at Schiff Hardin LLP. Delashmit and Lesser focus their practice together on transactions involving leveraged employee stock ownership plans, or ESOPs. In 2007, their ESOP Group concluded approximately $780 million of transactions-including sale transactions, reorganizations, and financing transactions-for private companies.
Delashmit focuses on corporate transactions, including securities, venture financing and leveraged ESOPs. He advises both public and private corporations, many of them in the technology industry. Additionally, Delashmit counsels clients on general technology issues, such as technology licensing, telecommunications regulations, financial accommodations and transactions involving federal and state franchise licenses.
Delashmit earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1989 and graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1986. He is admitted to practice in Georgia.
With more than two decades of experience, Lesser focuses on general corporate law with an emphasis on the design and implementation of ESOPs. He has represented ESOP sponsors, trustees and middle-market companies. Lesser advises clients on corporate finance, liquidity and diversification and succession planning. In addition, he has served as outside general counsel for a durable medical equipment manufacturer and distributor.
Lesser earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1985 and his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University in 1982. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and New York as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and the Southern Districts of New York.
