Duane Morris' Boston Office Adds IP Partner Vincent Capuano, Ph.D.
BOSTON, November 17, 2008 - Duane Morris LLP has added Vincent Capuano, Ph.D., as a partner in its Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm's Boston office. He was formerly a partner at Sterne Kessler Goldstein Fox in Washington, D.C.
Capuano focuses his practice in the chemical and pharmaceutical areas, with an emphasis on opinions and litigation related to Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) matters. He counsels clients in all aspects of patent procurement, exploitation and enforcement. This includes risk analysis, domestic and foreign patent preparation and procurement, patent validity and infringement analysis, patent licensing, and litigation. Capuano has represented companies in the pharmaceutical, electronic materials, ballistics and agrochemical industries.
Before embarking on his legal career, he was an Innoue Foundation for Science postdoctoral fellow at Hiroshima University School of Medicine in Hiroshima, Japan, in 1992 and an NIH/CNRS postdoctoral fellow at the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, in 1993. Capuano has authored peer-reviewed technical papers and has presented his research in national and international forums. He has significant knowledge and experience in organic synthesis, electron transfer, and photochemistry.
Admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Capuano earned his J.D. from the University of Akron in 1999. He received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Texas in 1991 and his B.S. in Chemistry from The Ohio State University in 1987.
