Duane Morris' Baltimore Office Adds Trial Partner Scott Marder
BALTIMORE, April 7, 2009 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that litigator Scott Marder has joined the firm as a partner in its Baltimore office, further strengthening the national capabilities of the firm's growing Trial Practice Group in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area. He has a strong background in complex commercial litigation, particularly in construction and real estate development, and joins Duane Morris from one of its clients, The Cordish Company, a multibillion-dollar conglomerate of real estate development companies, where he was director of litigation.
Marder is the ninth partner to join the firm's growing 15-lawyer Baltimore office. The firm's Baltimore office has experienced steady growth since its inception in December 2006. The founding team, which consisted of lawyers from the Baltimore office of DLA Piper, concentrates on corporate; securities; mergers and acquisitions; complex financial transactions; complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution; health law; intellectual property and IP litigation; products liability, toxic torts and product safety; information technology and telecommunications; banking and financial services; financial markets and tax. Before joining The Cordish Company, Marder developed a strong private practice focused on commercial, business and construction litigation. With substantial experience in the construction industry, he has represented real estate developers of residential and commercial projects as well as other businesses in a wide range of disputes, including mold litigation and other business torts. In addition, Marder handled significant matters at The Cordish Company involving disputes related to the gaming industry. A former assistant state attorney, he is highly experienced in trying matters in state and federal courts and has conducted numerous jury and bench trials.
