Duane Morris Chicago Office Adds Trial Partner Gordon Walton
May 5, 2009
CHICAGO, May 5 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that litigator Gordon Walton has joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office. His addition further strengthens the national capabilities of Duane Morris' growing Trial Practice Group, particularly in the areas of complex tort and environmental litigation.
Walton focuses his practice on products liability defense work and mass torts, handling toxic tort claims involving benzene, diacetyl, asbestos, silica and welding rods for clients including Fortune 500 companies across the United States. He serves as national mold counsel for a major insurance company.
In addition, Walton represents clients on a wide range of insurance coverage issues that arise under standard general liability, pollution legal liability, professional liability, excess and umbrella liability policies and many specialty coverage policies. He frequently speaks on mainstream and emerging insurance coverage and general litigation issues. Walton was recently a speaker at the mid-year CLE program for the American Bar Association's Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section.
Walton is an active member of the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms, an organization that addresses issues confronting minority attorneys in majority law firms. He is a member of the Chicago American Inn of Court and participates in a mentoring program for Chicago's public schools. Prior to entering private practice, Walton was a Cook County assistant state's attorney.
A 1994 graduate of the John Marshall Law School, Walton received his B.A. in political science from the University of Chicago in 1990.
