Duane Morris Adds Bankruptcy and Real Estate Partner Phillip K. Wang to San Francisco Office
SAN FRANCISCO, May 15, 2009 – Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Phillip K. Wang has joined the firm as a partner in its San Francisco office. His arrival further strengthens the national firm's Business Reorganization and Financial Restructuring as well as Real Estate capabilities in its San Francisco office. Wang comes to Duane Morris from Gordon & Rees LLP, where he was the leader of its Northern California practice groups in both bankruptcy and real estate. By bringing his practice to Duane Morris, his clients will now have access to Duane Morris' full-service national platform.
Wang represents secured creditors, financial institutions and others involved in the many facets of corporate reorganization, including distressed-assets transactions. He has extensive experience representing lenders and loan servicers in complex workout issues involving commercial mortgage loans and mortgage-backed securities. His commercial real estate experience extends to handling transactions and disputes associated with the ownership and operation of industrial, office and retail property, including leasing issues.
He is Chair of the Legislative Action Committee for the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, and serves on the board of directors of that organization as well as on the Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum. Prior to entering private practice, Wang was a senior staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1996 and his A.B. in History from Princeton University in 1989.
