Duane Morris' New York Office Adds Real Estate Partner Chester Lee
NEW YORK, December 21, 2009—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Chester P. Lee has joined the firm in its New York office as a partner in its Real Estate Practice Group. Lee's arrival further strengthens Duane Morris' growing real estate practice as well as its New York office, which was listed in the New York Law Journal's recent survey of the largest private offices in New York State. Lee joins the firm from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, where he was a real estate partner.
Lee has extensive experience in major national real estate matters. He represents both lenders and borrowers in secured financings and loan restructurings, including construction loans, REOs, (Real-Estate-Owned properties), leasehold financings, debtor-in-possession loans, exit financings, project financings and mezzanine debt. He counsels real estate investment and development companies in acquiring and developing real property, including ground-lease and sale-leaseback transactions. Lee also represents landlords, tenants and subtenants in leasing and subleasing matters. He has represented a national lender in construction financings in the New York City area aggregating more than $750 million.
A member of the American Bar Association, Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, Lee has been an active participant in the Asian American Bar Association of New York as well as the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
Lee earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1982. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Columbia University in 1979.
