Duane Morris San Diego Office Adds Real Estate Partner David E. Watson
San Diego, September 13, 2010—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that David E. Watson has joined the firm's growing Real Estate Practice Group as a partner in its San Diego office. Watson further strengthens Duane Morris' capabilities in real estate law, and particularly land use issues. He joins Duane Morris from HechtSolberg LLP.
Watson represents land developers and home builders, as well as clients in the tourism and hospitality industry. He focuses his practice in the areas of real estate law, land use, planning and zoning, environmental law and coastal development. He has represented clients on matters involving compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations, and has appeared before all federal, state and local agencies with land use jurisdiction in the San Diego County region and coastal zone.
Watson is a former member of the City of San Diego Planning Commission, chaired the Citizens' Task Force on Chargers Issues and was a member of the Task Force on Ballpark Planning. Currently, he is a member of the San Diego County Building Industry Association, Lambda Alpha International Land Economics Society, and the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, among others.
Watson has served as vice president at The Yokohl Ranch Company LLC, a development subsidiary of J.G. Boswell Company, which is one of the largest farming operations in California.
Watson earned his J.D. in 1988 from William and Mary Law School, where he was executive editor of the William and Mary Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He earned his B.A. in Journalism, summa cum laude, from the University of Southern California in 1979.
