Duane Morris Philadelphia Office Adds Corporate Partner Richard P. Jaffe
Philadelphia, September 9, 2010—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Richard P. Jaffe has joined the firm's growing Corporate Practice Group as a partner in its Philadelphia office. Jaffe further strengthens Duane Morris' capabilities, both in Philadelphia and nationally, in representing private equity funds, investment banks, financial institutions, foundations and individual investors. He joins Duane Morris from Ballard Spahr LLP.

Jaffe focuses his practice in the areas of private equity, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate finance and venture capital financing, particularly in the alternative energy, technology, life sciences, retail and manufacturing industries. He represents private equity funds and other investors and companies in transactions and advises entrepreneurs on raising and investing capital as well as structuring public and private securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions and sales. In addition, Jaffe counsels boards on corporate governance issues.
Jaffe is a director on the global board of the Association for Corporate Growth and previously chaired its M&A East conference. He is the chair of the Corporate Governance Advisory Council of Drexel University's LeBow College of Business. He is also the chairman of the board of the University City Science Center and is a trustee of the University of the Arts. Jaffe has been recognized in Chambers USA as a leading corporate/M&A and private equity lawyer. He is a past chair of the Securities Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and a past chair of the Business Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
Jaffe earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law and his A.B. from the University of Pennsylvania.
