Richard RenckWILMINGTON, January 2, 2014—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Richard L. Renck has joined Duane Morris' Trial Practice Group as a partner in the Wilmington office, expanding the firm's capabilities in complex commercial litigation and in particular proceedings in the Delaware Court of Chancery and in federal court in Delaware. Renck joins Duane Morris from Ashby & Geddes.

Renck focuses his practice on complex corporate and commercial litigation. The majority of his litigation practice consists of corporate governance actions in state and federal courts and statutory actions arising under Delaware General Corporation Law. Renck also advises clients on general commercial disputes. In addition, he advises corporate boards, directors and committees of boards in high-stakes litigation and counsels directors and senior executives on issues of corporate governance.

Renck is Chairman of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Business Law Section's Subcommittee on Business Courts and is also a member of the Richard S. Rodney American Inn of Court. At the 2013 Association of Corporate Counsel's Annual Meeting, he moderated a panel on "Recent Developments in Director Liability Law." He is the co-author of the ABA Business Law Section Business Courts and Corporate Litigation Committee's Annual Review of Developments in Business and Corporate Litigation (2012).

Since 2004, Renck has represented neglected and abused children in the Family Court system through Delaware's Office of the Child Advocate. Prior to attending law school, Renck graduated from Wachovia Bank of Georgia's management trainee program and served as a manager in retail branches. Renck earned his J.D. in 1999 from the University of South Carolina, where he was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe and articles editor of the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal. He earned his B.S., cum laude, in 1992 from Presbyterian College. After law school, Renck was a law clerk, first in the Superior Court of Delaware, and then to the Honorable William B. Chandler III and the Honorable John W. Noble in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
