Duane Morris helped secure SEC approval for the $2.7 billion initial public offering of Inland Western Retail Real Estate Trust, Inc. With a complex structure, and the heightened concerns of the SEC and NASD over direct participation programs, this transaction presented hurdles to clear with market regulators, and federal and state securities regulators. Working closely with Inland Western, Duane Morris was able to work through the rigorous clearing process to allow the fifth largest owner of retail real estate in the U.S. to form a new real estate investment trust and expand Inland's portfolio in Western states.
