Jeanette M. Berberich practices primarily in intellectual property law, specifically with a focus on patent application drafting and prosecution work. Ms. Berberich has significant experience with patent applications directed to financial technologies, software, and control systems implemented in a wide variety of products and backend systems for multinational corporations. More particularly, Ms. Berberich has drafted and prosecuted applications for technologies rooted in artificial intelligence or machine learning models, cloud networking, distributed ledger systems, autonomous vehicles, graphical user interfaces, communication systems, signal processing, medical devices, video processing, and more. Further, Ms. Berberich regularly counsels clients regarding international and foreign filing strategies. Ms. Berberich additionally assists clients with freedom to operate searches, patentability searches, due diligence, invalidity and infringement opinions, and licensing review.
Ms. Berberich also works with clients in technology-related transactional matters, including structuring, negotiating, drafting, implementing and providing legal advice regarding technology licensing, development, consulting and service agreements. In this respect, Ms. Berberich works on drafting and negotiating agreements directed to a range of intellectual property issues, including software licenses, patent and related know-how licenses.
Ms. Berberich is a 2014 graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where she was associate editor of the Journal of Law in Society, and a graduate of the University of Michigan.
