Robin L. McGrath is a first chair litigator with twenty four years of experience litigating patent and trademark disputes on behalf of some of the most well-known corporations. Robin is a partner in Duane Morris's Intellectual Property Practice Group and represents clients across a wide number of industries. She also serves as a team lead for the firm’s Fintech industry group, as she has represented many of the country’s largest Fintech companies in high stakes patent litigation. Robin has extensive courtroom experience and has secured many jury verdicts in patent and trademark infringement cases on behalf of her clients. She regularly appears before the Federal Circuit and has been recognized as a top "50 Woman Lawyer in Georgia" and was selected as the 2019 "Lawyer of the Year" in Atlanta for Patent Litigation and the 2017 "Lawyer of the Year" in Atlanta for Intellectual Property Litigation. Robin approaches all of her cases with unparalleled enthusiasm and has made it her personal mission to "kill bad patents." Opponents have commented on her "wicked cross examination" and her penchant for eliciting admissions through skillful use of documents and deposition testimony.

Robin is a 1995 graduate of the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, where she was managing editor of the Law Review, and a 1989 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

  • Representing major auto manufacturer in patent litigation concerning assembly line systems that is expected to have far-reaching effects in the automobile industry.  

  • Represented power company in patent infringement action alleging infringement of automatic bill payment patent and obtained dismissal with prejudice of all claims upon a finding that the asserted patent was invalid for being directed to patent ineligible subject matter.

  • Represented real estate technology company in patent infringement action litigation and Federal Circuit appeal relating to online property searches and obtained summary judgment of invalidity under §101, which decision was affirmed by the Federal Circuit.
  • Represented network security company in patent litigation case asserting ten network security patents.
  • Represented national bank in litigation accusing text alert system of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
  • Represented multiple financial institutions and technology providers in patent infringement action and successfully invalidated all four patents-in-suit in IPR proceedings.
  • Represented well-known financial institution in patent infringement action relating to text banking and obtained summary judgment of non-infringement.
  • Represented banking institution in patent infringement action relating to mobilebanking resulting in a dismissal with prejudice of all claims.
