Tairan (Terry) Wang, Ph.D. has more than eight years' experience practicing in the area of intellectual property with a focus on the prosecution, drafting and litigation of patent applications in diverse technologies such as telecommunication, semiconductor design and manufacturing, computer software and hardware, Internet applications, artificial intelligence and big data processing.

Dr. Wang also works in a variety of post-grant review proceedings (e.g., CBM, IPR), trademark applications, patent and trademark license agreements, patent invalidity contention, patent infringement opinions, freedom to operate analysis, ITC 337 investigation, and due diligence reviews of IP portfolios.

Dr. Wang's technical and research experience includes: signal processing in communication systems like cellular networks, wireless LAN networks, Wi-Fi networks; network infrastructure; 3GPP standard; Internet of Things; semiconductor technology; and magnetic recording. Dr. Wang has written and prosecuted well over 200 patents in a variety of technical fields related to electrical engineering and computer science and was awarded one patent for his own invention.

Before joining Duane Morris, Dr. Wang worked at Seagate Technology for three years as a senior electrical engineer. Dr. Wang earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. He earned both Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and a B.S. in Electronic Engineering and Information Science from the University of Science and Technology of China. He is a a native speaker of Chinese.
