Duane Morris will host "The Federal Opportunity Zone Program in Real Time: Doing Opportunity Fund Deals Now" program on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the firm's Philadelphia office and via webinar.
About the Program
Tacked onto the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed last year, the federal Opportunity Zone (OZ) program could well become the most impactful federal incentive for equity capital investment in low-income communities. It is designed to access the United States’ $6 trillion in unrealized corporate and individual capital gains, encouraging investors in Opportunity Funds (OFs) to redeploy capital to finance new and expanded business activities in low-income communities nationally. Yet, regulations implementing this program still seem far off.
Our blue-chip panel will address:
- How OFs are moving forward and closing deals now
- The benefit to OF investors compared to traditional investments
- Structuring OZ real estate and business investments
- What to expect when negotiating an investment from an OF
- How real estate developers and businesses in OZs can access OF investments
