Duane Morris Special Counsel Michael Clark Appointed Secretary of ABA Health Law Section

Michael E. ClarkHOUSTON, August 12, 2011—Duane Morris special counsel Michael E. Clark has been appointed by the Governing Council of the American Bar Association (ABA) Health Law Section to serve as the section's secretary. Clark, a member of the firm's Trial Practice Group in its Houston office, will also serve as co-chair of the section's Publication Executive Committee.

Clark recently moderated a panel at the ABA's Annual Meeting in Toronto. He led the discussion for the ABA Section of Business Law session on "The Care and Feeding of Whistleblowers: Implications of the Dodd-Frank Act in the United States and Elsewhere," which took place on August 5.

Clark concentrates his practice in securities and financial fraud litigation, as well as white-collar and healthcare law in both criminal and civil matters. He has been lead counsel in more than 100 jury trials, and has also counseled healthcare providers, insurers and financial institutions, helping to conduct internal investigations and advising on compliance and corporate governance matters. Clark serves on the planning committee for the ABA National Institute on Internal Investigations and Forum for In-House Counsel. He is the immediate past chair of the ABA's Section of Business Law White-Collar Crime Committee. Clark is also an adjunct law professor at the University of Houston Law Center's Health Law & Policy Institute and is a faculty instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

He is a graduate of South Texas College of Law and holds an LL.M. in Health Law and an LL.M. in Tax from the University of Houston Law Center. Clark is also a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington.
