Alex Anderson

Alex G. Anderson is special counsel in the firm’s Trial Practice Group. He represents companies, educational institutions and individuals in civil, criminal, investigative and enforcement matters in federal and state courts. Mr. Anderson has significant experience in complex commercial litigation, securities and regulatory matters, white collar defense, collegiate athletics compliance and NCAA rules enforcement. His work includes counseling clients on Name, Image and Likeness issues, state NIL laws and compliance considerations arising from developments in collegiate athletics, including the House litigation settlement.

Mr. Anderson has managed all phases of litigation from pre-suit investigation through post-trial appeals. His experience includes supervising and executing the defense of significant NCAA allegations during a multi-day contested enforcement hearing, directing witnesses during a federal preliminary injunction hearing, providing key associate support during a month-long FCPA criminal trial and arguing discovery and substantive motions before federal and state judges. He regularly develops litigation strategies with clients and coordinates teams of partners and associates on sophisticated matters.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Anderson served as a federal and appellate law clerk. Mr. Anderson is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as a senior editor of the Georgetown Environmental Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University.
