Carolina Goncalves practices in the areas of commercial and international dispute resolution. She has represented U.S. and international clients in a variety of industries before federal and state courts and arbitral tribunals in complex cross-border matters. Carolina has also represented clients in white-collar and global regulatory matters, with success before international bodies such as Interpol. She is a native speaker of Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, and she regularly counsels her clients and collaborates with local counsel in those languages.
Carolina obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 2013. She is a 2016 graduate, with honors, of Emory University School of Law, where she was executive managing editor of the Emory International Law Review.

- Successfully represented publicly traded international gaming company in resuming trade following Nasdaq trade suspension in connection with Russia-Ukraine sanctions.
- Successfully represented publicly traded financial services company in resuming trade following Nasdaq delisting in connection with Russia-Ukraine sanctions.
Developed and implemented FCPA compliance program for Asia-based LNG company with U.S. operations. Conducted corporate compliance audits, compliance training sessions, and counseled company on compliance matters through multiple deal negotiations and internal investigations.
- Successfully petitioned for removal of former Latin American government official from Interpol Red Notice list.
- Counseled U.S.-based client that was the subject of federal money laundering investigation in Brazil.

Represented Nexters, Inc., an international game development company, after it was suspended from trading by Nasdaq in connection with the Russia-Ukraine sanctions; successfully had the suspension lifted, making Nexters the only company out of eight to have the trading halt lifted, after reviewing OFAC and SEC regulations and implementing corporate governance changes as requested by Nasdaq, including changes in the composition of Nexters’ board, detailed due diligence work on the company’s shareholders, and the elimination of all investments and employment in Russia.
