Marianne Calabrese is a partner in the firm’s Private Client Services Practice Group. She focuses her practice on complex estate and trust planning and administration for ultra high net worth individuals and families, with a particular emphasis on cross-border wealth strategies and clients in the entertainment industry. Ms. Calabrese also advises fiduciaries and beneficiaries in contested and non-contested Surrogate’s Court proceedings.
With more than two decades of experience in private practice, institutional fiduciary services, and tax planning, Ms. Calabrese brings a comprehensive perspective to structuring multi-jurisdictional estate plans and administering sophisticated trusts. She regularly prepares and reviews estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns, and advises clients on income, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters.
Prior to joining Duane Morris, Ms. Calabrese served as Counsel at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz P.C. and as a Senior Fiduciary Specialist at BNY Mellon, where she managed trust relationships exceeding $80 million and collaborated with family offices and advisors to implement wealth preservation strategies.
Ms. Calabrese also has experience representing clients in fiduciary litigation, will contests, and IRS and state tax audits. She has appeared in contested accountings, handled trust decanting and modification proceedings, and served as a trusted counselor to both individual and corporate fiduciaries.
