Meagan E. Garland practices in the area of labor and employment law (transactional and litigation). Ms. Garland counsels clients on employment law matters as they arise in the day-to-day course of business, including hiring practices, employee discipline, employee terminations, wage-and-hour matters, employee privacy, vacation policies, sick leave policies, and state and federal leave laws. She also assists clients in drafting documentation such as termination notices, employee handbooks, business and employment agreements, and correspondence regarding discipline and employers’ attempts to reasonably accommodate disabled employees. Ms. Garland defends employers in harassment, discrimination, retaliation and wage-and-hour matters.  She conducts workplace investigations as well as sexual harassment and anti-bullying training.

Ms. Garland is a 2006 graduate of Boston College Law School, where she was staff editor for the Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review, and a summa cum laude graduate of Spelman College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
