Patrick M. Sherman has substantial employment litigation and counseling experience. In his litigation practice, Mr. Sherman has defended employers against claims of discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, breach of contract, unfair competition and trade secret misappropriation. He regularly takes and defends depositions, and has argued motions in federal and state court. He has successfully opposed class action claims for wage and hour violations. Mr. Sherman also has experience drafting and reviewing executive employment agreements and various restrictive covenant terms, including non-solicitation and non-compete clauses.
Mr. Sherman also provides strategic counseling to employers, helping them manage high-risk situations and comply with state and federal employment laws. He regularly drafts and revises handbooks and other employer policies to ensure legal compliance and reflect emerging best practices.
Mr. Sherman is a 2003 graduate of Duke University School of Law and a graduate of Stanford University.
