Rachael Cain practices in the area of construction law. Ms. Cain provides a “soup to nuts” suite of services related to construction and real estate deals on behalf of prominent institutional and corporate owners and developers. She has worked on some of the largest commercial, residential and mixed-use projects in New York City and the United States, including some of the most iconic skyscrapers in Manhattan; and directly represented one of the largest global developers in deals across the U.S. She also has experience with matters involving environmental, energy, land use, zoning, and real estate. She was formerly general counsel for Connecticut’s largest landowner and developer, and worked first-hand on zoning and leasing multiple 350K S.F. commercial developments on an eighty-acre former brownfield site.

Ms. Cain routinely drafts, negotiates, and handles disputes regarding agreements including construction management agreements, including “guaranteed maximum price” agreements; design consultant agreements; engineering, construction, and procurement agreements; license and access agreements; and real estate agreements including large-scale commercial leases, real estate loan agreements, and purchase and sale agreements. She advises clients on budget, design, project management, insurance, risk management, and dispute resolution issues.

Ms. Cain is a 2017 graduate of Texas A&M School of Law. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Cain worked as an urban planner and received her M.S. in Urban Planning from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She holds her B.A. from Smith College in Massachusetts.
