He has also represented clients throughout all phases of the litigation process, including trial, and prides himself on being a tireless advocate for his client’s strategic and business objectives.
Mr. Garippo focuses a significant portion of his practice on high-stakes privacy class actions. He understands the challenges that companies face in keeping private information secure in an increasingly digital world and is committed to providing his clients with a vigorous defense when they are accused of wrongdoing. He has experience litigating claims under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (“ECPA”); Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”); Video Privacy Protection Act (“VPPA”); Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”); Illinois Genetic Information Privacy Act (“GIPA”); and various other federal and state law causes of action. He also frequently represents companies in data breach class actions brought throughout the country.
Mr. Garippo also regularly defends companies involved in complex wage & hour class and collective actions. He has significant experience defending his clients in lawsuits brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), and its state law counterparts. He prides himself on his ability to design unique strategic defenses and craft complex procedural solutions when his clients are facing bet-the-company liability.
Mr. Garippo is interested in the developing intersection between emerging technologies and the law, particularly constitutional law, and often publishes on the subject. He is almost always working on a new publication, whether it be a blog post, or a full-length law review article.
Mr. Garippo is a graduate of Notre Dame Law School (J.D., cum laude, 2022), where he was the Managing Editor for the Notre Dame Journal on Emerging Technologies, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (B.A., summa cum laude, 2019).
