Samuel Bordoni-Cowley is a senior associate in the firm's Trial Practice Group. He represents corporate and institutional clients in complex commercial disputes, environmental matters, and tort litigation in both federal and state courts. Mr. Bordoni-Cowley has experience handling all stages of litigation, from pleadings through appeal, including dispositive motion practice, discovery management, and trial preparation.
Prior to joining Duane Morris, Mr. Bordoni-Cowley was an associate in the litigation department of a national law firm, where he represented clients in commercial, environmental, and higher-education matters. His work included acting as second chair in a three-week trial in a shareholder oppression dispute valued at up to $80 million, serving as lead associate in environmental litigation under CERCLA and the Pennsylvania Environmental Rights Amendment, and representing national and international clients in multi-state consumer protection and premises liability matters.
Mr. Bordoni-Cowley also advises clients on e-discovery protocols, crisis management, and internal investigations, particularly for higher-education institutions and hospitality industry clients. He has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America 2025 for commercial litigation.
Mr. Bordoni-Cowley is a magna cum laude graduate of Rutgers Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Rutgers University Law Review and received the Achievement Award in Legal Writing. He earned his B.A. in Political Science and Italian Studies from Wheaton College and studied abroad at the Università degli Studi di Ferrara and Università degli Studi di Firenze through Middlebury Schools Abroad.
