About the Program 

Duane Morris Partner and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Joseph K. West was joined by Robert Raben, former assistant U.S. attorney general, CEO and founder of the national public policy firm The Raben Group, and founder of the March on Washington Film Festival. Robert will share his vision and goals in creating the March on Washington Film Festival, which “serves as a national platform to tell, celebrate and increase awareness of the untold events and icons and foot soldiers, known and unsung, of the Civil Rights Movement."

Introductory Remarks

Matthew A. Taylor is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the firm and also serves on the firm's Executive Committee. He practices in the area of commercial litigation, handling matters in state and federal courts across the United States. Matt also represents corporate boards and individual corporate officers and directors in internal and government investigations and related proceedings. Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York, Matt is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He is listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business in general commercial litigation.

Moderator 

Joseph K. West is a partner in the firm's Trial Practice Group and practices in the area of complex litigation. He is also a member of the firm’s Partners Board and serves as the firm’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and as chair of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Consulting Practice. In 2019, Joe was the recipient of the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award: Diversity & Equality from Chambers and Partners.

Speaker 

Robert Raben is a former assistant U.S. attorney general and the founder and CEO of The Raben Group, one of the most influential public affairs and governmental relations entities in the country. Robert is also founder of the March on Washington Film Festival. Founded on the 50th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington, the film festival has become the repository of some of the most historically important films that chronicle the ongoing struggle for civil rights. Each year, the festival also features some of the nation's most thought-provoking and influential speakers.
