PFAS Webinar Series

April 30, 2024 | Webinar | Introduction to PFAS and Its Regulation
July 15, 2024 | Webinar | Federal and State Regulatory Update
October 15, 2024 | Webinar | Risk Mitigation and the Rise of Class Action Lawsuits

About the Series

After widespread use in countless consumer and industrial products, the EPA and state attorneys general have launched a national effort to restrict the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, limit their release into the environment and undertake remediation and cleanup efforts of contaminated sites. While these efforts originally targeted the more well-known perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) chemicals, we are seeing an increased focus on many other PFAS, such as GenX, PFHxS, PFHxA, PFNA and PFBA, as well as efforts broadly aimed at all PFAS as a group. Affecting companies across a wide range of industries, deciding exactly how these “forever chemicals” are best dealt with will require knowledge and planning. Our PFAS Webinar Series will cover topics pertinent to companies seeking to eliminate or minimize usage of these chemicals as regulation ramps up.

October 15, 2024 | Risk Mitigation and the Rise of Class Action Lawsuits

About the Program

The group of chemicals known as PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, has been widely in use for decades. With the EPA enforcing regulations on production, containment and remediation under current environmental law and states advancing similar laws, companies must direct their concerns to compliance and minimizing risk. This new legislative landscape has created a heightened likelihood of a single violation snowballing into a full-fledged class action lawsuit. Join us as we explore the rising trend of class actions tied to PFAS, offering insights on how to safeguard your business from potential legal challenges and mitigate the risks of devastating lawsuits.
