Governor Greg Abbott has made appointments to the Risk Management Board, naming Jason Boatright, Jeffrey Houston, and Jason Hartgraves to their respective positions. Boatright and Houston will serve terms that end on February 1, 2031…, The board is responsible for overseeing various insurance services for state agencies, including workers' compensation insurance and state risk management programs.

Jason Boatright, based in Dallas, works as a special counsel at Duane Morris LLP. He has previously served as a Justice on the Fifth Court of Appeals. Boatright is involved with the Texas Board of Disciplinary Appeals and has been chairman of the Dallas Bar Association Appellate Section. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Middlebury College, a Postgraduate Diploma in Latin and Ancient History from the University of St. Andrews, and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law.
