AUSTIN, Texas, September 28, 2026—Duane Morris LLP has appointed Brad Thompson as managing partner of its Austin office. Thompson succeeds Bert Greene, who has served as managing partner since the office’s opening. Thompson and Greene established the Duane Morris Austin office in 2017. Austin marked the firm’s second Texas office, joining Houston, which opened in 1999. Duane Morris doubled its Texas presence by opening a Dallas office in 2021 and Fort Worth office in 2022.

“Austin has a dynamic and vibrant business community with diverse industries, and over the past eight years, our Austin office, as well as our overall Texas presence, has thrived and expanded under strong leadership and vision,” said Matthew A. Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Duane Morris. “We are committed to our clients in this important region and will continue to be disciplined and opportunistic about our growth in Austin as we anticipate further expansion.”

Taylor continued, “Brad Thompson helped establish Duane Morris in Austin. Beyond his formidable skills as a lawyer, he has proven himself as an engaged, thoughtful leader within our industry-focused initiatives along with possessing a deep understanding of our culture, which is a true market differentiator for Duane Morris.”

Thompson’s Chambers'-ranked practice focuses on complex commercial issues across a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on energy and healthcare. He also serves as a team lead for the Duane Morris Energy Industry Group and is a member of the firm’s governing Partners Board. Within the energy industry, Thompson has extensive experience ranging from refineries to renewable energy facilities, with particular experience in megaproject EPC construction disputes. In the renewable energy industry, he represents clients in a range of energy-related issues involving disputes, transactions and regulatory compliance matters. In the healthcare industry, Thompson has experience representing healthcare and pharmaceutical providers in various levels of disputes and compliance-related matters.

“Although we will miss Bert, his indelible mark across our office’s history will remain as we continue into our next chapter,” said Thompson. “I’m excited to continue being a part of the momentum for Duane Morris here in Austin, across Texas, and the firm.”

Thompson is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School (J.D., with honors, 2004), where he was a member of the Journal of Business Law, and Baylor University (B.B.A., summa cum laude, 2001).
