PHILADELPHIA, September 8, 2020—Duane Morris LLP partners Seth A. Goldberg and David E. Landau have been named to the American Trade Association for Cannabis and Hemp’s (ATACH) task force, launched to help harmonize emerging laws and regulations and provide an industry response to marketplace issues surrounding cannabidiol (CBD) and other cannabinoids.
“The bifurcated treatment of hemp and marijuana has created a very confusing landscape for our clients and other participants in this industry that is hindering potential growth,” said Goldberg.
“We’re looking forward to working with other industry professionals to focus on the important questions surrounding regulation in the CBD industry to present a united path forward for this burgeoning market,” added Landau.
The task force will participate in dialogue with the FDA on CBD enforcement priorities, comment on DEA’s interim final rule, supply testimony on federal regulatory dockets, assist global regulatory bodies, participate in standards bodies work and furthermore plans to present at the 3rd Annual European Workshop Advancing the Field of Cannabis/Hemp through Standardization in October 2020. Goldberg joined ATACH President Michael Bronstein and Gary Kaminsky of Acreage Holdings in their meeting with the White House’s Office of Management and Budget in August.
Goldberg serves as team lead for Duane Morris’ Cannabis Industry Group, where he advises core and ancillary cannabis and hemp companies in regulatory and business matters, as well noncannabis companies evaluating their participation in the cannabis space. Landau provides comprehensive counseling to a range of diverse clients, including cannabis companies, on an array of issues focusing on trade secrets, intellectual property, employment, early stage business issues as well as regulatory and governmental affairs.
