PHILADELPHIA, April 17, 2023—Michael Bruckner has joined Duane Morris LLP as the firm’s chief information officer. Bruckner was previously chief information officer at Buckley LLP. Bruckner replaces John J. Sroka, who served as Duane Morris’ chief information officer since 2001. Sroka is retiring after more than 35 years as an information technology professional with experience in law and professional service firms, insurance operations, strategic and tactical planning, systems design and project management.

Bruckner is a skilled information technology executive with more than 20 years of experience, including 15 years with law firms. He is a strategic leader with demonstrated success directing strong cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of technology solutions, with a particular focus on safeguarding data and advancing business strategy. While most recently chief information officer at Buckley LLP, he developed an overall technology strategy that included significant innovation and cloud adoption. As the chair of the firm’s Information Security & Privacy Committee, he ensured compliance with regulatory standards, as well as compliance with outside counsel guidelines. Additionally, Bruckner was responsible for all aspects of incident response planning, testing and execution, and lead responses to all technical and cyber-security incidents.
Bruckner is a graduate of the George Washington University (B.A., 1999).
