CHICAGO, September 17, 2019—Daniel O. Canales has joined Duane Morris LLP as a partner to lead the firm’s labor and employment practice in Chicago. Canales further enhances the firm’s employment litigation and counseling capabilities. Prior to joining Duane Morris, Canales was a shareholder at Ogletree Deakins.
“Dan’s well-rounded employment practice will be a benefit to our clients, from the counseling stage through to litigation,” said Matthew A. Taylor, CEO and Chairman of Duane Morris. “He will be a trusted business partner.”
“Dan is a great addition to our practice group and we’re excited to expand our presence in the Midwest,” said Eve I. Klein, chair of the Employment, Labor, Benefits and Immigration Practice Group. “Our clients are not only national, but global, and we continue to position ourselves to best serve their needs.”
“We’re excited to welcome Dan to the Chicago office and to the firm,” said John Robert Weiss, managing partner of the Duane Morris Chicago office. “Dan has exactly the team-oriented approach to the practice of law that we value so highly at Duane Morris.”

Canales’ clients range from small businesses to large multinational conglomerates, primarily in the manufacturing, distribution, retail and healthcare industries. He was previously a senior consultant in the Human Capital practice of Deloitte, where he advised and negotiated on behalf of companies on a variety of HR issues.
