ATLANTA, April 24, 2024—Duane Morris partner Matthew C. Gaudet was selected as a Distinguished Leaders honoree by the Daily Report. The honor is part of the publication’s 2024 Southeastern Legal Awards, which celebrate achievement and excellence for lawyers who have left an indelible mark on the legal community in the Southeast and beyond through their unwavering dedication to the profession.
The honorees will be recognized at a gala on June 20 in Atlanta. In June, the Daily Report will also publish a special section, further highlighting the skilled attorneys and their important accomplishments.
Matthew C. Gaudet serves as vice chair of the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group. Over the last 25-plus years, he has defeated dozens of patents through trials, summary judgment rulings and IPRs, and he regularly appears before the Federal Circuit. In 2023 alone, he won trials for Cisco Systems, SonicWall and Fortinet, and he has served as lead counsel for other major technology companies including Verizon, Microsoft, Comcast and Cox Communications. He has also collected more than $100 million for patent holders. Gaudet was previously recognized as one of the top five IP lawyers under 40 in the country by Law360. For each of the last three years, he has been listed in Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America. Every year since 2009, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business included Gaudet in its listing of leading IP lawyers in Georgia.
Gaudet is a 1997 magna cum laude graduate of Duke University School of Law and a 1993 magna cum laude graduate of Louisiana State University.
