Duane Morris Continues Growth in Philadelphia, Adds Two Real Estate Partners

PHILADELPHIA, November 1 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to welcome George Kroculick and Drew Kapur to the firm's Philadelphia office as partners in the Real Estate Practice Group. Both join the firm from Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP.

George and Drew practice in the areas of eminent domain, condemnation, highway access management and control and relocation assistance. They represent property owners who have had property taken by government for public projects and transportation projects. Their clients include oil companies, retailers, regional shopping malls, motels, hotels and restaurants, and commercial and residential property owners.

George Kroculick, formerly the co-chair of Ballard's Eminent Domain/Condemnation Group, also represents both private owners and public sector clients in condemnations involving properties affected by soil and groundwater contamination or impacted by regulations affecting freshwater wetlands, flood hazards and steep slopes. He appears before local and county land use boards, and frequently writes and lectures on eminent domain issues.

A member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association, George is also an Affiliate Member of the Appraisal Institute, a member of the Land Use Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association, the International Right of Way Association, the New Jersey Builders Association and the South Jersey Builders League. He serves on the board of trustees of The Family YMCA of Burlington County in New Jersey.

George earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 1983. He is a cum laude graduate of Villanova University.

Drew Kapur speaks regularly about condemnation issues before the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Appraisal Institute and the Atlantic Builders Convention. In addition, he has published articles in New Jersey Lawyer Magazine and Biz India.

Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Drew was New Jersey Deputy Attorney General, Department of Law and Public Safety. In that role, Drew was responsible for several significant condemnation cases for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, New Jersey Transit Corporation and New Jersey Economic Development Authority. Prior to that, he was the Assistant General Counsel for Subaru America, responsible for counseling the company on issues involving dealer terminations, vehicle allocation, trademark protection and advertising as well as negotiating contracts between Subaru and its parts suppliers.

Drew earned his J.D. in 1981 from Loyola University School of Law. He received his B.A. with honors from North Carolina State University.
