Health Law Practice Group Continues Growth

CHICAGO, January 11 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to welcome Patricia Hofstra to its Health Law Practice Group in Chicago. Patricia is formerly a partner with Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLC, where she practiced in the firm's healthcare and white-collar criminal defense practice groups. She is the second Health Law partner to join Duane Morris this month.

Patricia serves an array of clients in the healthcare industry, including hospitals, long-term care providers, individual physicians and physician practice groups, home health agencies, ambulatory surgery centers, and medical device and pharmaceutical companies in a variety of health law and corporate matters. Her clients turn to her for matters including licensure and regulatory issues, hospital/physician contracting, joint ventures and information technology matters. She regularly advises clients on fraud and abuse, governance, compliance, Stark and intermediate sanction issues.

Previously, Patricia served as in-house counsel at the American Hospital Association, Lutheran General Hospital and St. James Hospital and Health Centers, and served on Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's Access and Affordability Subcommittee of the Health Care Transition Team. She has also been an arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. Patricia frequently publishes articles and lectures on health and hospital law. She has been an adjunct professor at Governors State University, where she taught healthcare law to graduate students.

Patricia earned her J.D. in 1978 from Ohio Northern University and received her B.S.N. from Pennsylvania State University. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and Ohio.

Earlier this month, Duane Morris welcomed Michael L. Ziegler to its Health Law Practice Group in New York. Michael is the former chair of the health law practice at Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP.
