Nathaniel N. Gates

Nathaniel (Nate) N. Gates is a Conflicts and Business Intake Compliance Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel in the Philadelphia office. Mr. Gates focuses on ensuring compliance with ethical standards related to firm policies and procedures, identifying and resolving conflicts of interest, and ensuring adherence to the rules of professional conduct. He routinely works with the firm's partners to resolve conflicts and other client relation issues.

Prior to joining Duane Morris, Mr. Gates was employed as a Conflicts Attorney at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. As a law student, he was the Symposium Editor for the Northeastern University Law Journal (now known as the Northeastern University Law Review) and interned at the Northeastern University Office of the General Counsel, Finbury & Sullivan PC, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute, and the Suffolk County Juvenile Court in Boston.

Mr. Gates is a 2014 graduate of Northeastern Universty School of Law and a 2008 graduate of Grinnell College (B.A., Art History). He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Gates is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Professional Guidance Committee.
