The hurricane Katrina has been an unparalleled disaster on so many fronts. Yet, even in this context, there are a few bright spots. On of them is www.Katrina.com. The site was founded seven years ago by Katrina Blankenship. The site was designed as part of Ms. Blankenship's Web design and consulting business.

In an effort to provide assistance in the wake of hurricane, Ms. Blankenship completely converted her site. The site now hosts a repository of information dedicated to the hurricane, including links to emergency agencies, a list of missing persons, and message boards where people share communications relating to the hurricane and its aftermath.

The links provided are quite extensive, including governmental Web sites, sites dedicated to assistance for storm victims, sites for missing persons, weather tools, shelter information, special news releases and community links and assistance.

Katrina.com reportedly has received 150,000 visits in less than one week since it has been converted into a hurricane assistance medium, when before it received about 20,000 visits per month.

The quote "May God's richest blessings be upon each of you for your willingness to help those in need" is set forth on www.Katrina.com. Thank you, Ms. Blankenship. Unlike the hurricane, you are a very positive and much valued Katrina.
