Matthew L. Capone handles complex environmental issues including environmental regulatory compliance, enforcement and permitting matters, the Industrial Site Recovery Act, Site Remediation Reform Act, CERCLA/Superfund matters, due diligence investigations for commercial real estate closings and renewable energy projects. He represents clients ranging from Fortune 10 oil companies in multi-party federal litigation to private citizens in environmental compliance matters with federal, state and local laws.
To his clients, Matt brings a strong command of environmental matters, offering strategic guidance to help navigate regulatory requirements and streamline project development. He routinely advises clients on the environmental elements of commercial transactions in order to streamline project lead times and mitigate risk. Matt has been entrenched in some of the most high-profile remediation sites along the East Coast and is valued by his clients for providing cost-effective counsel and for developing effective approaches to address environmental considerations in both transactional and litigation contexts
Mr. Capone is a 2018 graduate of Rutgers Law School and an alumnus of the Law School’s venerated trial advocacy program.
