Paris G. Mayfield practices in the area of litigation with experience in white-collar, general commercial and construction litigation. She has represented clients in Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission investigations as well as in cases involving trade secrets. Ms. Mayfield also advises clients in the education and financial services sectors on compliance issues.
Ms. Mayfield is a 2021 graduate of Notre Dame Law School, where she was executive editor of the Notre Dame Journal on Emerging Technologies, and a magna cum laude graduate of Texas Christian University.
Represented Tekkorp Digital Acquisition Corp./Caliente Interactive in connection with a competitive bidding process conducted by the Illinois Gaming Board for a Master Sports Wagering License for Online Sports Wagering Operators.
Represented Stericycle, a compliance company, as co-lead trial counsel in a breach of contract matter.
Represented, LNR Partners, LLC, a property management company, as co-lead trial counsel in a dispute involving tort and contract claims. Led team on successful summary judgment briefing and substantial post-trial briefing which led to a defense bench trial verdict.
Obtained temporary restraining order compelling a former employee to comply with non-disclosure requirements under Illinois School Student Records Act. Negotiated permanent injunction with former employee for return of all client and student confidential information.
Represented client as co-lead counsel handling all aspects of litigation in a breach of contract matter involving the enforcement of a settlement agreement against recalcitrant parties. Led team on favorable summary judgment rulings on all material issues in the case.
Represented a construction/engineering client in an international arbitration before a SIAC panel; successfully got the arbitration dismissed with costs and fees awarded to the client.
Represented an investment fund client in the closing of a $50 million credit facility, enabling the client to significantly grow its business nationwide.
Analyzed government funding opportunities for national private school network.
