PHILADELPHIA, October 25, 2022―Partner Christiane Schuman Campbell has been named a 2022 Philadelphia Business Journal Women of Distinction honoree. In its 27th year, the Women of Distinction program recognizes women in the business community who are blazing a trail at their respective companies, are respected for accomplishments within their fields, give back to the community and are sought out as respected advisers and mentors. The 36 honorees were selected by the Business Journal’s editors from almost 300 nominations made by the public.

Campbell is a partner in Duane Morris’ Intellectual Property Practice Group, counseling clients on brand development, management and protection. She serves as a team lead for the Duane Morris Fashion, Retail and Consumer Branded Products Industry Group and is a member of the firm’s governing Partners Board. Additionally, Campbell serves as chair of the Duane Morris Women's Impact Network for Success (WINS).

Below is an excerpt of her profile.

Christiane Campbell

Growing up, Christiane Campbell was intrigued by the concept of a woman president and sought out a career that could lead to the White House. While she no longer has political aspirations, that early interest led her to a fruitful law career. For over 15 years, she’s been at Philadelphia firm Duane Morris, one of the 100 largest firms in the country. There, she serves on the governing board of directors, its recruitment and retention committee and chairs its Women’s Impact Network for Success, in addition to practicing in the intellectual property law field. Her goal is not only to aid her clients but to lift up other women through mentorship and programming.

A distinguishing moment in my career so far:

Making partner at the firm, with one toddler at home and a baby on the way. I also recently had the honor and privilege to host our first-ever live and in person Impactful Women Summit at Duane Morris’ annual firm retreat in Boca Raton, Florida.

To uplift other women, I:

Mentor. I am extremely committed to mentoring women who are junior to me, or even who are my peers or senior to me and seeking guidance. I try and give real-time feedback and encourage shadowing whenever possible. I also spend a lot of time listening.

How I overcome obstacles in my professional life:

Make a list. Take a step back. Tackle one task at a time. Talk things out and get the perspective from someone whose judgment I trust.
