SAN DIEGO, June 27, 2023 – Duane Morris LLP San Diego partners Courtney L. Baird and Patricia P. Hollenbeck have been named San Diego Women of Influence in Law 2023 by the San Diego Business Journal. Only 50 women are selected for this honor each year. The recipients are chosen based upon their achievements in the field of law as well as their contribution to the San Diego business community.
Courtney L. Baird is vice chair of the Commercial and Antitrust Litigation Division of Duane Morris’ Trial Practice Group and a member of the firm’s governing Partners Board. She serves as outside counsel to businesses handling their compliance and risk management issues and prosecution and defense of litigation. Baird has extensive experience in complex litigation, including class actions, consumer claims, products liability, contracts, torts and the False Claims Act. She represents clients in all forums, including federal and state courts and arbitration.
Baird serves as a pro bono arbitrator for the Arbitration Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association and was a speaker at the Annual National Academy of Arbitrators Conference. She is the past chair of the Civil Litigation Section of the San Diego County Bar Association and has served on the San Diego board of governors for the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. Baird is the past San Diego office chair for Duane Morris’ Women’s Impact Network for Success (WINS) and currently serves as the hiring partner for the firm's San Diego office Summer Associate Program.
Hollenbeck practices mainly in the fields of commercial and business litigation, handling both individual and class action cases in state and federal courts. Her industry focus is primarily comprised of clients in the consumer and franchising sectors, however, she handles claims in other sectors as well, including business interference, unfair competition, consumer legal remedies and false advertising. She has handled over 200 arbitrations, arbitrating to award more than 50 cases before a number of forums, including the American Arbitration Association.
Within Duane Morris, Hollenbeck has made a considerable impact as well. She was a member of the WINS Steering Committee for many years. In 2013, Hollenbeck received the Cheryl Blackwell Bryson Leadership Award, presented by WINS.
