NEW YORK, August 14, 2023―Duane Morris associate M. Alejandra Vargas has been named a Rising Star in New York Law Journal’s 2023 New York Legal Awards. The Rising Star Award recognizes the New York legal community’s emerging leaders. Honorees were selected by New York Law Journal judges and outside judging panels from hundreds of submitted applications. The honorees will be recognized during the New York Legal Awards on October 4.

Vargas concentrates her practice in the area of immigration law. She represents companies in a wide variety of industries seeking to employ foreign nationals in the United States on a temporary or permanent basis. She also assists individuals and families in connection with nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters as well as naturalization. Vargas is a volunteer attorney in the firm's pro bono group. She is also a member of the firm’s associates committee, the Hispanic/Latino employee resource group and the marketing committee of the New York office.
