Former Senior Enforcement Attorney with the SEC and Former Federal Prosecutor Strengthens Duane Morris' National White-Collar Practice
New York, January 4, 2011—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Mauro M. Wolfe has joined the firm's Trial Practice Group as a partner in its growing New York office. Wolfe's arrival further bolsters the firm's national White-Collar Criminal Defense, Corporate Investigations and Regulatory Compliance division. Wolfe joins Duane Morris from Dickstein Shapiro LLP.
A former senior enforcement attorney at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and a former federal prosecutor, Wolfe's practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense; securities enforcement, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations; complex civil and administrative litigation; internal corporate investigations; and data security and privacy matters. He has represented U.S. and foreign corporations, corporate executives, government officials and others in a broad range of white-collar criminal cases involving securities and commodities; bank and procurement fraud; customs and export violations and bribery. Wolfe is a frequent lecturer on white-collar crime, internal investigations, data security and privacy matters, as well as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues. Most recently, he spoke on the topic of global anti-corruption in Cape Town, South Africa before an international audience of accountants, auditors, and business consultants representing over 50 countries.
Wolfe has extensive experience working with various U.S. and international law-enforcement agencies and securities regulators, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Internal Revenue Service; U.S. Postal Inspection Service; U.S. Department of Homeland Security; U.S. Department of Defense–Criminal Investigation Task Force; U.S. Secret Service; the SEC; the New York Stock Exchange; the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority; the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York state securities regulators; the Swiss Central Authorities; New Scotland Yard; and the British Columbia Securities Commission.
He served as the Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Securities and Healthcare Fraud Unit in Newark, New Jersey. Prior to that, Wolfe was the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, where he worked in the Criminal Division, Major Frauds Unit. Earlier in his career, he served as a senior attorney in the Enforcement Division of the SEC's Philadelphia District Office and as an Assistant District Attorney for the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, Narcotics Division.
Wolfe is a member of the prestigious New York Council of Defense Lawyers. He is the founder of the New York Hispanic Partners and Senior Corporate Counsel Group and is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and its New York and New Jersey regions, the U.S. Attorney's Office District of New Jersey Alumni Association, and the Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni. Wolfe also serves on the board of directors of LatinoJustice PRLDEF.
Wolfe earned his J.D. in 1996 from Temple University Beasley School of Law and his B.S. in 1990 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
