WASHINGTON, D.C., February 11, 2026―Brad Y. Chin has joined Duane Morris LLP as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in its Washington, D.C., office. Chin was previously a partner at Bracewell LLP.

Chin is a registered patent attorney who counsels and represents clients concentrated in the energy and high-tech industries. His deep technical experience, industry and market knowledge and background as a chemical engineer equip him to counsel clients in managing IP portfolios and strategic business relationships. Chin’s practice focuses on assisting clients with patent and trademark procurement and enforcement, licensing and technology transfer, invalidity, noninfringement and freedom-to-operate opinions, post-grant review proceedings, IP DFARS/FARS government contracting compliance and corporate due diligence. He prosecutes patents in the chemical, electrical and mechanical arts for U.S. and international clients, particularly in the areas of oil and gas drilling equipment, chemical processing, telecommunications, automotives, robotics, consumer electronics, semiconductors, energy, clean technology, catalytic filtration systems, coatings, food products, medical devices, nanotechnology, electronic healthcare systems and treatments and life sciences. Chin also represents clients in intellectual property litigation matters before state and federal courts. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a patent examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office and as an IP manager and counsel at Raytheon Company. Prior to entering the legal profession, Chin served as technology licensing manager for the Technology Licensing Office at Texas A&M University and as a multidisciplined process engineer at Raytheon Company, where he designed and manufactured missile systems. He is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt specialist.
