DALLAS, October 7, 2026—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that John Polzer, managing partner of the firm's Dallas office, has been elected as a member of the American Law Institute (ALI), the nation's leading independent organization dedicated to promoting the clarification and improvement of the law.
Founded in 1923, ALI is widely recognized for its work in producing “Restatements of the Law,” “Principles of the Law” and model codes that influence courts, legislatures and legal scholars throughout the United States. Membership is by election only and is extended to judges, lawyers and legal academics who have demonstrated professional achievement and a strong commitment to improving the law and the administration of justice.
Polzer was elected as part of ALI's newest membership class announced in October 2026.
ALI President Wallace B. Jefferson welcomed the organization's newest members, noting that ALI's work is made possible by members who contribute their time and expertise in service of the administration of justice. The newly elected members will bring their knowledge and experience to ALI's ongoing work of clarifying and improving the law.
John S. Polzer is the managing partner of the firm's Dallas and Fort Worth offices. He is co-chair of the Duane Morris Healthcare Litigation Division of the Trial Practice Group and a member of the firm's governing Partners Board. Polzer practices in the area of litigation with a focus on healthcare bankruptcy, commercial litigation, construction, energy litigation and real estate. Polzer represents clients nationwide and has litigated cases in more than 30 states and has represented numerous clients in asset purchase litigation in Delaware.
