PHILADELPHIA, August 11, 2009--International law firm Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce the formation of the Duane Morris Institute, which will comprise a series of seminars, webinars and other learning tools for businesses, their general counsel and human resource professionals, line managers and benefit administrators.
Most of the Duane Morris Institute courses and instructors were selected from among the most-popular seminars previously offered by the Wolf Institute, operated by law firm Wolf Block's Employment Group in Philadelphia. The Wolf Institute ceased to exist with the wind-down of that firm earlier this year.
Duane Morris has embraced wholeheartedly the training model employed by the Wolf Institute. Jonathan Segal, who was the Managing Principal of the Wolf Institute, is the Managing Principal of the Duane Morris Institute. Segal is one of 15 employment, labor, benefits and immigration attorneys, as well as two paralegals, who previously were members of Wolf Block's Employment Services Group who moved to Duane Morris earlier this year and immediately began establishing the Duane Morris Institute. Course selection will start in September with programs on topics such as:
- Documenting Discipline
- Strategies to Prepare for and Successfully Conclude Collective-Bargaining Negotiations
- Voluntary and Involuntary Reductions in Force and Creative Cost-Cutting
- Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in the Workplace
A complete list of course offerings follows. Courses will begin on September 22 (with Segal teaching Documenting Discipline) and will run through December 16.
The existing instructors from the Wolf Institute will be joined by leaders of the Duane Morris Employment, Labor, Benefits and Immigration Practice Group, including practice chair Thomas Servodidio, employment benefits partner W. Michael Gradisek and senior employment partner Bruce Kasten. Courses will include employment law, management labor relations, employee benefits and executive compensation and immigration law.
"We are thrilled to bring our rich selection of employment, labor, benefits and immigration learning options to our new home at Duane Morris," said Segal. "One of our reasons for joining Duane Morris was the firm's enthusiasm for the Institute concept and the great success we had in our years at our prior firm, as well as Duane Morris' desire to build on that success. This will be another prominent example of the successful combination of the former WolfBlock and Duane Morris employment practices."
A new array of listings for early 2010 will be announced this fall. For more information, please visit www.duanemorrisinstitute.com.
