Duane Morris represents Hugh F. Culverhouse in his lawsuit against hedge fund manager John Paulson, who is accused of gross negligence over substantial investments in the Sino-Forest Company, a potentially fraudulent Chinese timber company. Culverhouse and other investors in Paulson's fund lost nearly $500 million. Duane Morris Partner Harvey Gurland stated, "With just the basic due diligence, the Paulson companies could and should have foreseen Sino-Forest's problems. Instead, Paulson simply threw money at the company with a shocking disregard for the financial well-being of its investors."
