John Paulson Hedge Fund Sued For Negligence

John Paulson's decision to invest heavily in the questionable Sino-Forest Company cost shareholders approximately $460 million. According to Duane Morris Partner Harvey Gurland, who filed the suit against Paulson on behalf of a prominent Miami investor, simple due diligence would have prevented the loss. Gurland was quoted as saying, "This investment should never have been made. People invest millions of dollars with Paulson because he's supposed to be one of the best if not the best in the world. That's why we say [his investment in Sino-Forest] was gross negligence and it's egregious."
